 Kitsap County Workshops

The Community Nearshore Restoration Program is being conducted on the shores of Kitsap County/Hood Canal.   Our goal is to contact marine shoreline property owners to provide technical support and funding to help them identify and implement restoration and preservation projects.

The adivsory committee of shoreline landowners and technical staff has completed the first workshop at the Seabeck Christian Conference Center on November 15, 2007.  Over 100 people participated and helped us identify projects and plan beach walks.

This summer we have completed 3 beach walks in Holly, Miami Beach and Misery Point and planning 2 more events to further the opportunities to identify projects.

To date, the program has identified 31 restoration and preservation projects along with helping 57 landowners with native vegetation projects.

Through our Marine Riparian Initiative Program,  we have plants and expertise to help marine shoreline landowners plant  native plants.
